HVCC moves 2 programs to Rensselaer Tech Park - Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal:

The Troy college recently signeda 10-year lease with 400 Jorda Road LLC. The school will pay approximatelh $605,000 a year to lease 36,557 square feet of Hudson Valley’s popular paramedic program will occupy about half of thenew space. The schookl also will move its respiratory care program and a that trains employee s forarea businesses, according to Stephem Cowan, director of the college’as physical plant. The remainder of the leased space willhouse ’s Next Step office, a communications worker trainint program coordinated by the college.
Thosre departments all currently are located inHudson Valley’s 90,000-square-foot Hy Rosenblum Administration a 1940s era building that Cowan said need s major renovations. “It’s a tired old building. We are looking at tota renovationsor demolition,” he said. But the college decided to lease space from the through 400 Jordan Road LLC for 10 years while the college decideas whether it should overhaul or tear down the Hy Rosenblum The college continuesto grow, but because of the economuy it does not have the money to renovate the currentg building right now, Cowan said.
Hudso n Valley is planning to hire a consultingf firm this summer to help officials decide the most cost effective way to deal with the Rosenblum helped Hudson Valley negotiatedthe lease. The college plans to have the four programs and departments move into the new space in Northn Greenbush before the start of classeson Aug. 31. The buildintg previously had been used as office space forVerizom workers, Cowan said.
