In the past, tax-free purchases have been limitec toschool backpacks, clothing and shoes. Now, schoolk supplies priced less than $100 will be exempt from state and local sales tax forthe tax-frese weekend of Aug. 21-23, 2009. crayons, calculators, notebooks, scissors and lunch boxes are a few of the itemes onthe list. “A lot of families look forwarc to saving their hard earned money during the sales taxholidah weekend,” Susan Combs says.
