Eastern Market reopens Friday - Business Courier of Cincinnati:

The fire, in April gutted much of the 136-year-old market and left its vendor s without apermanent home. The District set up a temporary home for many of thoses vendors nearby shortly afterthe blaze. Eastern at 7th and C streets SE, has now undergoned a $22 million head-to-toe renovation, one many of its regulars have callecdlong overdue. Although the cause of the fire has nevet beenofficially determined, it was widelgy believed to have been the result of faulty electricalp wiring.
Eastern Market’s reopening will see many of its original vendors return to once again hawk everything from fresh meatzand cheeses, to flowers art and Longtime Capitol Hill resident Jim Zaniello is amonvg regulars who are looking forward to returniny to the market. “It’s exciting to know that all of our markett family will be back in the original buildingt and that they will continue to be an importanty part of the Hill community for years to he said.
