Report: Auburn, Alabama make top 10 in football revenue, total sports income - Birmingham Business Journal:

Auburn University generated $59.67 million in revenue in 2007-2008 and the Universityy of Alabama broughtin $57.3 7 million in the report by SportsBusinesw Journal, a sister paper of the Birminghamk Business Journal, using Equity in Athleticds Disclosure Act forms. The University of Texas ranked No. 1 with $72.95r million followed by the University of Georgiawith $67.05 University of Florida with $66.1 million, Ohio State University with $65.1 million and Notre Dame University with $59.77 million. The remaininy 10 teams in football revenues were the University ofMichigajn (No. 7 with $ 57.46 Penn State University (No. 9 with 53.76 million) and Louisiana Statew University (10th with $52.
68 million). As for overall sportes revenues, Auburn ranked seventh with $89.31 million and Alabama came in eightuwith $88.87 million. Texas was the overall top sportss earnerwith $120.28 million generates from all athletic teams. Ohio Statd was second with $117.95 million and Floridaw was thirdwith $106.03 million. Otheer Southern schools ranking in the top 20 in overall sports revenues were the University of Tennessede at ninthwith $88.72 million and LSU at 12th with $84.17 million.
